Our multidisciplinary research on genome structure and function is instrumental in discovering gene functions and understanding the evolution and role of allelic variants.
We are currently focusing our R&D efforts on NGS-based genome assembly, detection of SNPs and structural variation, analysis of epigenetic modifications, and single cell sequencing.
Research projects cover six areas:
Sequencing & Assembly
IGA participates in several plant genomes sequencing projects.
Genetic Diversity
Unravelling the genetic history of crop species.
Genome Biology
Structural variation, movement of transposable elements and epigenetics.
Gene Discovery
Understanding the genetic bases of agronomic traits.
Innovative Solutions
With our research projects, we seek innovative solutions for agriculture, breeding and plant science.
