The IGA boasts a new 400 square meters labs, hosted at the Scientific and Technological Park «Luigi Danieli» of Udine and and have two core facilities:
- a DNA sequencing facility that includes thermocyclers, liquid handling robots, chambers for the bacterial cell culture, and routine equipment. Benches can accommodate up to 20 persons. Sequencing and Next generation Sequencing (NGS) machines include
- two Illumina HiSeq2000/2500
- one Illumina MySeq
- one Illumina GA IIx
- three Sanger sequencers ABI 3730XL
- a computational core facility organized into three logical areas:
- Services, that includes the active network apparatuses (switches, firewall), 3 virtualizations servers and their storage for the provision of different types of services, 1 database server, 4 "general purpose" blade servers
- Computation that includes 1 switch Infiniband, 16 "twin" servers, of which12 are in cluster, 2 are used exclusively for the analysis of Illumina data, 2 are for generic uses (CLC and similar), 1 server Sun with 128GB of RAM and 1 server Tyan with 128GB di RAM
- Storage that includes units for data storage and backup for a total of 118 TB.
